Council Launches Public Engagement on Active Travel
Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is inviting residents, businesses, and visitors to share their views on the future of walking, wheeling, and cycling in the district through a newly launched public engagement initiative.
Through UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF), the Council is developing an “Approach to Active Travel” document. This plan will outline opportunities to enhance walking and cycling routes, reduce congestion, improve air quality, and support healthier, more sustainable travel choices.
Executive Councillor for Economy, Regeneration and Housing, Cllr Sam Wakeford, said: “Active travel is a key part of creating a healthier, greener, and more connected Huntingdonshire. By improving our walking, cycling, and wheeling routes, we can make it easier and safer for people to choose sustainable travel options—whether for commuting, school runs, or leisure. This engagement is a fantastic opportunity for residents to have their voices heard and shape the future of our active travel network.”
